Ed & Joanne Problems: Lung Cancer, Radiation treatments, Chemotherapy

12/19/03 - From Linda Arndt

In the late fall of 2003 my father who was 88 years old, was diagnosed with Lung cancer which required radiation and chemotherapy. He decided he would not go through either treatment, due to his age, and had pretty much given up hope. His doctors and the family encouraged him to go through these treatments, because he was a very active and vital 88 years old, and the prognosis was hopeful if he went through the treatment. My father was very concerned about losing his hair, nausea, weight loss and the energy loss that is associated with this line of treatment.

After much coaxing from me to take some nutrients to help him through this “process“. He decided he would go through the treatments along with nutritional supplements in hopes of preventing the debilitating side effects of chemo and radiation.

After two weeks into his 28 days of treatment, my mother writes:

“I know they said the larger usage of NZYMES® Antioxidant Complex (10 per day) would help with the symptoms of the chemotherapy and radiation treatments, but Ed is truly like the "Energizer Bunny, He's all over the house!".

We were gone 6 hrs today for chemo and radiation and he can't unwind. It’s like he wants to make up for those lost 6 hrs. We also used the vitamin/mineral supplement, the Willard water, the Graviola from Roscoe, and the Tracite Minerals (to come soon). So I am not sure which is doing what but the combination of all of these is helping Ed tremendously.

He is supposed to be resting 24 to 48 hrs after each Chemo treatment, but he doesn't seem tired at all? If he gets tired I am sure he will rest. To be honest I am glad he isn't! He is eating his fruits and veggies like they told him to do and of course, plenty of lean protein.

1/17/04: My mother writes:
We are now 1/2 way through the treatments. Dad is a little dizzy today, but he is sleeping good and his appetite is still great. He had Chemo #3 today and it went pretty well considering the third treatment sometimes causes reactions. Dad may lose his hair after this one. However, he didn't act any different and we were there for 4 hours.

3/3/04: My mother writes:
Dad finished up his cancer treatment today. He had 9 chemo and 40 radiation treatments. We have been very busy 5 days a week for 9 weeks. He responded very well to his treatments, no nausea, very little hair loss and NOT flat-out tired and his blood count is good. Ed still kept doing what he normally did on a daily basis and I am going to see to it that he continues his NZYMES®, the Graviola, the Tracite Minerals (to come soon), as well as the other things.

Chemotherapy Support SupplementDuring this process, Dad took 10 NZYMES® Antioxidant Complex pills each day I think taking these supplements helped him get through this with very few of the debilitating side effects that are associated with cancer therapies.

It’s really amazing how well he came thru this especially at 87 years old. He was by far the oldest one of any that we saw at the treatment clinic and in a lot better condition. He only lost a couple of pounds and his appetite stayed close to normal.

4/9/04: My mother writes:
I thought you would be pleased to hear that Dad’s latest x-ray and Cancer Doctor appointment went very well and I feel it had to do with your suggestions of nutritional supplemental: NZYMES® Antioxidant Complex, Graviola, and Tracite Minerals, added to his normal vitamin routine. The Doctor was surprised and exceptionally happy when he checked his x-ray of course, we are too.

Thank you so much for all your help.
